Yuliia Vasik
holds a PhD in Germanic Languages (Ukraine). With over two decades of teaching experience in translation and interpreting, she has designed and taught numerous courses in English-Ukrainian translation, focusing on both linguistic accuracy and the cultural depth of texts. Her professional and academic work is deeply rooted in the belief that translation is not merely a linguistic task, but a cultural negotiation. She is particularly passionate about helping students develop sensitivity to nuance and context, and guiding them in rendering culturally specific concepts faithfully across languages. Her publications and textbooks examine lexical gaps, non-equivalence, and the pedagogy of teaching translation, particularly in the context of political and international relations discourse.
